I've been back for ten hours and I already feel that I've slipped back into the Irish way of life. Already about to eat a huge 'fry-up' for dinner, REAL irish bacon, sausages, eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes. Yum ! I've been thinking about how much we all worry about things this afternoon. Reading an e-mail made me realize how much we actually stress over things that really don't need to be stressed about. I'm so guilty of that and worry about my future more than anything. It's easy to get caught up in this 'plan', a plan that so many around me seem to be following, especially in our church community. 1. Meet a nice Christian boy. 2. Get married. 3. Start a family. 4. Attend church. 5. Grow old and watch your kids follow the same plan. But gosh, this isn't the plan He has for all of us ! It's so easy to get caught up in this 'idealistic' course of life and when it doesn't work out, it can be absolutely devastating if you have planned to live like that. But, therein lies the problem, its OUR plan, not His and we can scheme all we want but it's not gonna change what He wants. I'm really going to try and open my eyes to a new lifestyle, be ready for whatever God throws at me and try my hardest to NOT worry.
As I just mentioned to my friend,
Matthew 6:34- Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. each day has enough trouble of its own.
So, even though that sounds awfully hard to do right now, I'm going to try and ask God for the strength to stick to it and trust in His plan.
Anyway, dinner time !
